The Flame-crested Manakin is a Passeriforme of the family Pipridae.

It is about 14 cm long and weighs between 20 and 24 g.
The males flares their white throat feathers and chase rivals but little else is known.
It is found in seasonally flooded forest (várzea) and riparian woodland.
It is found in the Amazon Basin south of the river Amazon and west of the river Xingu. It is also found in adjacent areas of Peru and Bolivia.
